Social Security Benefit

HOW THE GOVERNMENT PENSION OFFSET MAY AFFECT SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS?
by Jinky C. Mesias
The government pension offset is in fact a reduction in the benefit which a social security members spouse is likely to experience especially if the spouse has a government pension from work that is not covered by the Social Security. The benefit to be received by the spouse with regards to the social security benefits of his or her spouse will be offset by two-thirds of the amount he or she will be receiving as her or his government pension.
Social Security Death Record

Social Security Benefits After Divorce
by Jean Mahserjian
Divorce does have some effects on social security benefits. The basics are quite simple. If you are entitled to receive social security benefits based upon your own earnings record, you will, of course, be able to collect social security after divorce based on that earnings record. However, if you were married for ten or more years, you might be able to collect social security benefits under your spouses record after you are divorce. There are a few qualifications that you must deal with.
Social Security Death Index

The Social Security Death Index (SSDI)
(Created from the Social Security Administration's Death Master File)

The Social Security Death Index (SSDI) is a database of people whose deaths were reported to the Social Security Administration beginning about 1962. A very small number of deaths are listed before 1962. You will not find everyone who died from 1962 to the present, but it does list many deaths in that time frame, especially in more recent years (particularly from the late 1980s to the present). It is close to being a national death index for the United States. If you find someone listed in the Social Security Death Index you can order a copy of the form they filled out when they applied for a Social Security Card (SS-5 form). This form usually has more information about the person such as date and place of birth, and names of parents.
However, how will you know that you are already abused or defrauded if you do not know the boundaries of your protection?
Social Security Number

HOW IMPORTANT IS YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER?
Social Security is providing each member with individual Social Security Number. The rationale behind the issuing of Social Security Number is to facilitate the processing of claims and benefits. Each Social Security member is provided with a unique number different from everyone else this means no two members would have the same number account. The Social Security Number identifies the Social Security Account of each of the member

President Bush took to the road in recent weeks to rally support for reforming Social Security, a move that would give citizens greater control over how they save for retirement and invest their money. It?s a theme that financial expert Robert Allen has been touting to millions of Americans through his "Creating Wealth" seminars.

SOCIAL SECURITY: WHICH IS MUCH BETTER EARLY OR LATE RETIREMENT?
by Jinky C. Mesias
The social security retirement benefit is given during the normal retirement age of a qualified member. The normal retirement age is the age at which the retirement benefits equal the amount of the primary insurance. However, the normal retirement age of members varies by year of birth. Any retirement before the normal retirement age may reduce the retirement benefits to be received by members however the opposite applies if ever members choose to retire after the normal retirement age. The amount of retirement after the normal retirement age is also much higher.
